Jayson Brunsdon

December 15, 2014

Location: Bondi Junction NSW

For the boutique of fashion designer Jayson Brundson, a scheme was derived from two core ideas: that the store should embody a sense of discovery; and once inside it should feel intimate and secluded. To achieve this, the outside is screened by a curved fluted wall forming a pathway into the store offering only glimpses of the interior. Inside, these curved fluted walls continue to fold and wrap throughout the space, expressing a sense of journey. Furnishings are designed along the lines of a private salon: with dressing rooms concealed behind lush velvet curtains, framed by a mirrored wall, while the sales desk is tucked away, lined in velvet and timber veneer, with a mirrored wrapping table beside. Befitting the clientele, the store epitomes elegance and privacy.
